OFF THE WALL receives $15k grant

OFF THE WALL Charlotte Avenue, a fiscally sponsored project of the Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville, announced a $15,000 grant award from Buckingham Foundation and Aertson Midtown this week. The grant provides funds for the final five artists contributing murals to Nashville’s first street art gallery, including Julia Martin Wimmer, Sarah Liz Tate, Omari Booker, Kyle Brooks, and Tess Erlenborn.

“I’m grateful for the support of Buckingham Foundation and Aertson Midtown who have given these artists a platform to showcase their work,” said Tinsley Anne Dempsey, curator of the project. “Thousands of people will see these pieces every day, that’s a pretty special thing.”

Founded in 2014, OFF THE WALL Nashville is an effort to promote creative placemaking in the city. The project’s goal is to promote thoughtful revitalization through the promotion of public art while uniting artists and community to inspire social change.  Visit the gallery wall at 3020 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, or learn more at www.offthewallnashville.com.
